Former Leeds United assistant manager Karl Robinson has revealed the reason Sam Allardyce claimed he was on par with Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola
Robinson has now revealed exactly why Allardyce made such comments in front of the media.

“He turned round me to me and said, ‘I need to do something here, I need to create a bit of a smokescreen. The players look nervous, they can’t deal with the pressure"
“I said, ‘just make up something, just throw something out there’. He said, ‘I f****** will’. I’m in his office with Keano [Robbie Keane] and we’re just sat there having a coffee. He [Allardyce] stormed in with his massive big smile on his big head and just went, ‘I’ve only ‘f****** said I’m better than Pep and Klopp haven’t I’. We all went, 'what!'"
“The press officer then walked in afterwards. He's giving it [puts his hands over his face] and [Allardyce] said, ‘let’s see how many bites I get on that one’.
“Obviously the next day it was everywhere - it was front page and back page of the papers - and he says to the players, ‘right, there’s no pressure on you now, it’s all on me’.
"He was trying to take all the pressure off the players and put it on him. We then played against Manchester City and you could tell Pep knew what Sam was doing, he just looked at him and smiled and nodded his head."
