Alan Shearer and Gary Lineker discuss Luis Diaz

Both Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have discussed the troubling news surrounding Luis Diaz's family in his native, Colombia.

Speaking on The Rest Is Football Podcast,

Lineker began:

"There's been some terrible stories this weekend, Luis Diaz for a start, whose parents have been kidnapped back home in Columbia.

"He couldn't take part in the game for Liverpool. I can't imagine what he must be going through."

Shearer added:

"I think the latest that I heard was that his mum, thankfully had been rescued, but his father was still missing.

"Goodness me, we send our best wishes and hope for the best outcome."
