Real Madrid are rumoured to be eyeing up Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold as they look to tighten their grip on European football
The Reds' star right-back might just be a dream too far for the Spanish giants given he's yet to fulfil one childhood ambition at Anfield.
Carlo Ancelotti is on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Euro 2024-winner Dani Carvajal, who will turn 33 in January and is out of contract next summer
it just so happens Alexander-Arnold's current deal on Merseyside is currently set to expire in 2025 as well.
According to Bild's Christian Falk (via The Mirror), Los Blancos have shown "concrete" interest in Alexander-Arnold
Furthermore, it's been suggested Alexander-Arnold is not against the idea of a move amid increasing speculation about his future at Liverpool.
Yet a departure from Merseyside now would mean giving up on a lifelong goal. Despite increasing interest in his services from the current champions of Europe
Alexander-Arnold has also indicated he'd be content playing for his hometown club indefinitely.
In a 2018 interview with The Times, he expressed his deep connection with Liverpool and said:
Trent
“There is nowhere else I'd rather be than Liverpool. Somewhere I want to stay for the rest of my career is Liverpool.
“It's what I've always dreamed of. Liverpool are special. It's completely down to the fans. Whether we are winning or losing we always have their love."
The full-back is inching closer to his dream of becoming captain, having been promoted to Virgil van Dijk's vice-captain last season
The then-20-year-old went on to tell The Times:
Trent
"I want to become captain one day. That's definitely a dream of mine.
“I hope with dedication, the right advice and the hard work that still needs to be put in that one day I might achieve that dream of becoming captain, something that me and my family will be very proud of if it comes."
