Spanish news outlet Marca have claimed that Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold wants to move to Real Madrid in a front page.

The Reds full-back is a matter of days away from being able to speak to overseas clubs as his contract expires at the end of the season.

The claim suggests that the Englishman has signalled his intention to sign for the Spanish giants

Alexander-Arnold is one of three high profile contract renewals that Liverpool have to settle as they sit six points clear at the top of the Premier League

with captain Virgil van Dijk and Premier League top goalscorer Mohamed Salah also facing the prospect of becoming a free agent in the summer.

The front page reads: "Alexander-Arnold quiere venir al Madrid. El jugador ya se lo ha comunicado al Liverpool," which roughly translates to, "Alexander-Arnold wants to come to Madrid. The player has already informed Liverpool."

In the online version of the media outlet, they suggest a renewal on Anfield is becoming "more and more unlikely"

Marca say that Real Madrid will wait and see over acquiring one of the best full-backs in world football

Los Blancos could repeat moves that saw Antonio Rudiger and Kylian Mbappe sign on free transfers.

Arne Slot has remained calm in public over the future of the three Reds stars. Speaking after their win over Leicester City on Boxing Day,

Slot said: “We don’t talk about contracts in public.

"This is something for the players and Richard [Hughes, Liverpool sporting director]. It’s not up to me to talk about those situations in public.

"It’s clear that Mo again had a good game. Virgil had a very good game.

“Trent for most parts was really good, [with] one or two exceptions. But especially second-half, he was really good. That we can talk about, not about the contracts."
