Thierry Henry sends blunt Champions League warning to Liverpool - 'you have to'

Thierry Henry has issued a warning to Liverpool after their Champions League win over Atletico Madrid.

The Reds claimed a 3-2 victory over the Spanish outfit at Anfield on Wednesday night to begin their league phase campaign with three points.

Virgil van Dijk scored the winning goal in stoppage time after Liverpool had seen their 2-0 advantage wiped out by a Marcos Llorente brace.

The win sees the Reds maintain their 100 percent start to the season in all competitions with five wins from five.

Even though Liverpool have won all five of their opening matches this season, all of them have required a late goal to secure a victory.

The Reds have also surrendered a two-goal lead three times this season, and now Henry has issued a warning to Arne Slot's side for the Champions League hopes.

But in the Champions League, if you concede too many goals, it's a tough one to win."

Liverpool will now prepare to face Everton in the Merseyside derby in the Premier League at the weekend in their next match. In terms of the Champions League, the Reds' next fixture will see them travel to face Galatasaray on September 30.
