Darwin Nunez has revealed he is optimistic of living up to the expectations that come with wearing the iconic number nine shirt at Liverpool.
It was announced that the Uruguayan would be ditching his previously worn number 27 to take the No.9 shirt recently occupied by Roberto Firmino.
Former no.9's range from the highs of Fernando Torres and Robbie Fowler to the lows of Christian Benteke and Andy Carroll.
Nunez said:
"The truth is I'm really happy to wear the number nine. I'm really proud.
"Honestly, previously other players represented this number really well and now it's my turn to wear it. I hope that everything goes well. I hope I'm able to represent it in the best way just as previous players did. Hopefully this is for many years and that it brings a lot of joy too."
