Liverpool have rejected the chance to sign Anthony Gordon after being approached by Newcastle United about a possible transfer this week.
The Reds are admirers of the England international, who could be sold by the Magpies this summer despite becoming a key player
Newcastle are currently attempting to raise funds ahead of tomorrow’s (June 30) deadline for Profit and Sustainability rules
The report states Newcastle asked for Jarell Quansah as part of a deal that would see Gordon head to Anfield, which has proven to be a sticking point.
Liverpool have no plans to lose Quansah this summer, or indeed at any point in the near future
The 21-year-old made a total of 33 first-team appearances last term and the Reds view him as an important member of the squad
Quansah signed a new long-term contract last May, which is set to expire in 2027.
Liverpool believe they already possess strength in depth in the left wing position with the likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota in their ranks.
This could of course change should Diaz leave the club in the coming weeks, having been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
