Milos Kerkez believes the recent international break could work in Liverpool's favour as they look to drag their season back on track on Sunday.
The Reds host bitter North West rivals Manchester United in the Premier Leaguehoping to arrest a run of three consecutive defeats that has seen the champions bumped off the top of the table.
A number of Liverpool players impressed for their respective countries over the past fortnight, including Cody Gakpo scoring three times for Holland, Alexis Mac Allister notching twice for Argentina and Mohamed Salahbagging a brace to seal Egypt's qualification for the World Cup.
And Kerkez, who featured twice for Hungary in their recent World Cup qualifiers, is confident of the mood in the squad.
Kerkez
"Everyone is really with a lot of positive energy back,"
"A lot of the lads had good performances and good wins with their national teams so we’re really looking forward to it.
"It’s a big game, it means everything for the club to win.
"Obviously that (run of defeats) was tough. But everyone is in shape and I saw everyone back with full energy and full focus and we are really ready to turn things around."
Liverpool haven't lost four consecutive games since November 2014 and are unbeaten against United at home since January 2016, with the Old Trafford side having scored in only two of their 10 subsequent visits in all competitions.
Kerkez has started every Premier League game since arriving from Bournemouth for £40million in the summer, and will hope to fend off the challenge of Andy Robertson to retain his left-back role.
And the 21-year-old is convinced the Anfield factor can make the difference for Arne Slot'sside this weekend.
Kerkez said
“I always feel different when I’m playing in Anfield, to be honest – I get a lot of energy and I’m not really feeling too tired with the adrenaline,"
“I know the fans will get behind us as always and they really, really give us a lot of boost, a lot of energy.
“So, it’s going to be a big one and obviously we want to give back to the fans, to the club, the victory.”
