Jayden Danns has made a significant step in his rehabilitation from a long-term hamstring injury by returning to training with Liverpool under-21s.
The 20-year-old striker, who made his first-team debut two years ago, has been absent since suffering the damage while playing for the U21s at Ipswich Town in September
The youngster recently returned to working on the grass, and has now been given the green light to step up his recovery having been photographed in team training with Rob Page's squad ahead of Sunday's Premier League 2 visit of Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpoolhead coachArne Slotrevealed last month Danns would have had minutes with the first team during the recent period had he been available.
Slot
“Jayden, if he would have been fit he would definitely have been in the squad,"
"He will fight back and come back and the world will get to know him the moment he’s fit again.”
Danns scored for Slot's Liverpool in the FA Cuplast season against Accrington Stanley and started the Champions League dead rubber at PSV Eindhoven.
He then agreed to spend the rest of the season at promotion-chasing Sunderland in the Championship only for the loan move to be scrapped due to a back problem.
Danns has made 10 appearances in total for Liverpool, netting twice on his third outing in an FA Cup win over Southampton in February 2024.
