Liverpool ace 'agrees personal terms' before possible $46M transfer exit

Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen has agreed personal terms with Jarell Quansah ahead of a possible transfer move for the Liverpool center-back, according to a report in Germany.

Liverpool has been in no rush to move Quansah on this summer, but Sky Germany says personal terms have been agreed with the 22-year-old.

The Athletichas added that a deal worth around $46 million (£34 million) has been discussed.

It would be completely separate from the agreement involving Florian Wirtz, though Liverpool.com understands that talks have taken place and a deal is nearing.

Quansah started the first game of the Arne Slot era at Ipswich Town but was taken off at half-time in that game.

He only started one more Premier Leaguematch before the title was officially confirmed — at right-back against Newcastle.

Bayer Leverkusen lost Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich this summer and is in need of a replacement.

And having agreed to sell Wirtz to Liverpool for a fee that could reach as much as $157 million (£116 million) including add-ons, it isn't short of cash

Quansah came through under Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool and was used much more under the German than when Slot took over. But the Reds would need to source a replacement if he was to leave.

According to The Times, Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is one option that sporting director Richard Hughes could turn to. He would represent a homegrown pick, which could become important if Quansah and Harvey Elliott both depart in the same window.
