Jurgen Klopp has insisted he wants no praise for Liverpool’s comeback victory against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The Reds struggled for the majority of proceedings at Selhurst Park, only cancelling out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s 57th minute penalty with their first shot on target in the 76th minute
Mohamed Salah would equalise for Liverpool with his 200th goal for the club, before substitute Harvey Elliott scored a stoppage-time winner.
Klopp had changed his side’s system throughout the clash with Palace in a bid to turn the tide
Trent pushing into midfield at half-time, before switching to a 4-2-3-1 with Salah upfront and Elliott just behind him.
Liverpool currently without a number of first team stars through injury as they head towards a frantic festive period
Klopp hinted he could continue to keep switching systems to suit the players he has available.
Klopp
“You need a squad to make a difference, and now we have the quality again,”
"If he wouldn’t have been injured, we’d have had Diogo Jota today which would have been super helpful.
“The boys have quality. That’s why they show it. It’s more the mindset. The bad thing about the amount of games we play is that it’s really tiring. The good thing is they all can play and have to play.
“It means we can make the moves we had to today. The players changed but we changed system, and I don’t want any praise for that as that’s the job to do, but that helped as well.
“In the end, we played with Mo up front and Harvey 10, with Gakpo right, and Lucho left and then coming inside.
"We tried everything and in the end it worked out. It was up to the players to take these little helping hands we can give. We just played better.
“You can say it was against 10 men, but we played quite frequently with 10 men this season and it was difficult to create against us.
"I know how difficult it is. People will say it made a difference, but we just played really good.
“It makes no sense to think if we have a perfect system. We just have to work with the players we have physically available. We can play different systems without a doubt.
“We came through this week, Sunday-Wednesday-Saturday, it was really tough and really tricky and all good.”
