Khvicha Kvaratskhelia believes Paris Saint-Germain have what it takes to win the Champions League this season

To do so, they have to knock Liverpool out of the competition in the round of 16.

The two European giants have intertwined fates and will meet in the next round of the Champions league

Based on their finishing places in the league phase table, as automatic qualifiers, top seed Liverpool will now play PSG

The team the Reds don't draw will play Barcelona.

As one of the stronger teams on the continent, Luis Enrique's side might have been expected to avoid the playoffs,

PSG did have a tough initial phase run-in with matches against Arsenal, PSV Eindhoven, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City on their agenda.

having seen off fellow French club Brest in their extra tie, Kvaratskhelia has made a strong statement regarding his club's chances of lifting the trophy.

Asked about PSG's chances of winning all the way to the final in Munich in May, he told Get French Football News:

"Yeah, of course everything is possible. We just have to concentrate and put everything on the field."

Liverpool could yet have something to say about that depending on how the draw for the next round goes

equally, Arne Slot would be needing to patch up a defence that only has two clean sheets in their last nine matches if he is to eliminate PSG from Europe.

Not only did they beat Brest over two legs, but they annihilated them with a 10-0 aggregate scoreline.

Kvaratskhelia - a £59m summer signing from Napoli - recorded his first Champions League goal and assist for his new team on Wednesday night.

It was in European competition two seasons ago that he announced himself with an outstanding performance for his former Italian employers against Liverpool at the Diego Maradona Stadium.
