Jurgen Klopp reveals dressing room message that sparked Liverpool comeback in Brighton win

Jurgen Klopp praised his Liverpool players' mentality after they fought back to beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-1

The Reds fell behind to a Danny Welbeck goal inside two minutes but responded through Luis Diaz in the first period before Mohamed Salah's 22nd goal of the campaign

The victory means Liverpool have now earned 26 points from losing positions this term and Klopp was impressed

Klopp

"It was, from my point of view, the best performance against Roberto's Brighton,"

"More possession, better possession, a really good rhythm in the game. OK, we lost the goal, we can lose the ball high up the pitch, doesn't you have to concede a goal but it was really well done [by Brighton], great finish.

"As far as I saw it, I liked the reaction a lot but I saw as well, in our finishing we were a bit in a rush. Not the same level as the rest of the build up.

"You cannot do it like we did, one or two of them must be proper chances. We didn't have enough shots on target in the first half and the ones we did were rollers. So we have to do better there.

"We scored an equaliser after a set-piece which is always helpful. We showed the boys one or two things.

"A few situations at half time and told them what to keep doing, what to calm down, in our defending we could improve and we tried that.

"We controlled big parts of the game, as much as we could because it is not always easy to deny them, it is super intense and needs real hard work.

"Frontline had to be patient for the right moments, Wataru (Endo) and Alexis Mac Allister in the right spaces and Dom Szbosozlai was the chaos creator.

"It worked really well, don't think they had a lot of possession, we scored a wonderful second and third which was slightly offside."

Klopp added:

"Then you have to bring it over the line and to be honest, we have not been in that position for ten years with this team, so I thought we could or would have been more nervous but the boys were really calm.

"I like that a lot and yes [Brighton] still had moments because you cannot deny them completely but we won the game."
