Jeremie Frimpong says Liverpool are getting a "really special" player in Florian Wirtz as the two former Bayer Leverkusen stars get set to reunite this pre-season at Anfield.
Frimpong officially became a Reds player when the transfer window opened at the beginning of June, after his £29m release clause at Leverkusen was triggered.
And he was joined by Wirtz three weeks later when the club struck a record £116m deal with the Bundesliga side.
Liverpool will pay an initial £100m for the 22-year-old with a further £16m in success-based add-ons, making the deal a potential British record transfer.
And Frimpong has talked up the ability of his team-mate as the duo get ready to report for duty with their new club next month.
Frimpong
"Everyone knows, look he is the record-breaking [transfer].
“That is no surprise to me because he is really, really, really amazing, you know. I just know what he can do at Liverpool, he can add to the team, you know. So I am really excited.
"I can't wait for the atmosphere [at Anfield], I can't wait to wear the shirt and play my first match, it's a privilege.
“You want to play for the top three [clubs] in the world, so for me to actually go from watching LFCTV every time, seeing that to actually me putting it on, is crazy man, I just can't wait for that.
"I've heard a lot about the atmosphere and people say you get goosebumps, so I'll have to see it as a Liverpool player, it is going to be different."
In a separate interview with JoelBeyaTV at the same Pathways event in Manchester, the Netherlands international revealed his talks with Arne Slot, adding:

"Obviously he was giving me good feedback with the way they play, you know.
"Of course he told me about my qualities and the gaffer knows I can defend also. Because I am a full-back and full-backs have to do that first, you understand?
"He was telling me positive things, positive things, but obviously it's Liverpool, I don't need convincing [to join]. But when a coach has trust in you, it makes it easier. So that is nice.
"It's not really sunk in yet. I don't feel like it's sunk in because I've been away [from England] for so long, you know. I am actually back, it's crazy.
"I can only thank Leverkusen man, because they made me the player I am today.
“Leverkusen is forever in my heart because that's family. For me, the Bundesliga - especially for young guys - that is a top, top competition.”
"At Leverkusen, it is not a joke man. You see when we won everything? Everyone doubted us, so to prove everyone wrong [was] the best feeling ever.
"For me, I always play how I have always played. I am an attacking full-back, you understand? I am an attacking full-back.
“I want to help the team as much as I can, if I have to run in behind, cross it, things like this.”
"The way I play, I used my speed, you know, I am a fast player, so I make runs in behind. I can beat my players one against one and I am a good defender, as well.
"I know people doubt and [say] because I attack too much I can't defend but I can also defend. I am a right-back, I have to defend but I like to attack."
