Jamie Carragher admits he's not Dominik Szoboszlai's "biggest fan" but conceded that the Liverpool midfielder's athleticism is key to how the Reds set up

The Hungarian has established himself as an important player under Arne Slot as Liverpool chase success on all fronts this season.

Szoboszlai has just four goals and three assists in all competitions for Liverpool

noting how attacking players have changed, Carragher says he prefers the style of Chelsea's Cole Palmer, who has scored 14 goals and notched eight assists

Carragher explained why he prefers watching Palmer after commentating on Chelsea's 2-1 win over West Ham.

Carragher said:

“Attacking players are now so tactical – we’re almost creating robots. Whenever the ball comes to the player, we already know what he’s going to do.

“Cole Palmer is one of my favourite players – he’s a little bit like a 90s throwback.

“I love the way he moves. I was commentating on the West Ham game and even though I’m commentating, I didn’t really care who won.”

"However, I was watching the game back and every time he brought the ball down on his chest or on his shoulder, he just looked like a throwback.

“I’m not Dominik Szoboszlai’s biggest fan, but he’s got great athleticism.

“He gets talked about as Liverpool’s number 10 and people say he’s great off the ball, but he’s a number 10 and only scored three goals.”
