Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley injury latest as Arne Slot confirms Liverpool boost for Man City

Arne Slot has admitted he doesn't yet know whether Ibrahima Konate or Conor Bradley will feature against Manchester City

Slot has confirmed Trent Alexander-Arnold will be able to start.

The pair gave Liverpool a major scare as they both picked up knocks during Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid.

Bradley appeared to go down with a hamstring problem, while Konate was left hobbling following a late challenge with Endrick.

It left both players as major doubts for Sunday’s top-of-the-table clash with City, when the Reds will have the chance to move 11 points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side.

They may have to do that without Konate and Bradley though, with Slot not sounding too confident on the pair's fitness.

Slot:

"They’re still being assessed, so it’s difficult to say where they are,"

"Let’s wait and see, but it’s never a good sign – Conor, I had to take him off, Ibou didn’t walk off the pitch as he should after such a fantastic game."

Slot though did confirm that Alexander-Arnold will be able to start on Sunday.

The Liverpool vice-captain was named on the bench against Real but didn't feature following his return from a recent hamstring injury.

Slot didn't provide updates on Alisson Becker, Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota or Federico Chiesa

The former of those does look to be closing in on a return, although Caoimhin Kelleher has deputized for him superbly, having saved another penalty against Real.

Despite missing some big names, Liverpool has continued its superb form on all fronts, unlike Sunday's opponents.

City are without a win in their last six games, having lost five in a row before throwing away a 3-0 lead against Feyenoord this week, with the defending Premier League champions clearly struggling without Ballon d'Or winner Rodri.

Asked about his own side's injuries this season

Slot said: "In general , people only talk about injuries if results aren't there, so it is good people don't talk about them but the moment you start to lose it is about kick-off times or injuries, but nine of 10 times it is quality of gameplan or quality of other team.

"If the replacements do so well for our injured players, it's normal they don't talk about the injuries. Missing Alisson, Jota, Trent; players who have had impact on results but it is good we don't talk about it much
