Cody Gakpo has admitted he is "aware" of the recent criticism that has come his way, insisting it does not bother him.
The Liverpool forward has been questioned at times this season for his inability to take chances and operate at the same level as the Reds' other attacking stars
This reared its head once again during the recent FA Cup quarter-final defeat at Manchester United, with Jamie Carragher accusing the Dutchman of playing the game "in slow motion"
Gakpo provided two assists in the Netherlands' 4-0 win over Scotland
Challenged on his recent form and whether his move to Liverpool can be considered a success, Gakpo refused to take offence to this question while emphasising his focus is solely on continuing his development as a player
Gakpo
"I am aware of the situations that have occurred and that are occurring and the expectations.
"I am someone who always looks at, what can I do better and how can I develop myself? That is still the case today."
“There are things that are going well and things that are not going so well that I have to develop that can be developed and I am fully engaged in that, and I am not really concerned with whether that transition has been successful anymore.
