Fernando Torres set for Liverpool return as Anfield date confirmed

Fernando Torres is due to return to Liverpool next month as part of the legends charity match at Anfield

On March 23, 2024, a team made of past Liverpool players and coaches will take part in the annual charity event that raises money for the LFC Foundation.

In previous years the visiting teams have included Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid - this time around the Reds will welcome old foes from AFC Ajax

Seven former stars had been named two weeks ago - they are Jerzy Dudek, Sander Westerveld, Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio, Gregory Vignal, Djibril Cisse and Ryan Babel. Torres has now been added as the eighth member

El Nino' scored 81 goals in 142 appearances, cementing his status as a cult hero.

This will mark his first appearances back in Liverpool colours as part of the Legends series since his departure 13 years ago.
