Mohamed Salah says his second Premier League success with Liverpool was 'way better' than his first.

And the Egyptian King paid special mention to his former manager Jurgen Klopp and his old strike-partners after the Reds sealed their 20th title.

The club's 19th championship five years ago was celebrated behind closed doors given the coronavirus pandemic.

But thousands of supporters were at Anfield to seal top spot this afternoon as they thrashed Tottenham Hotspur 5-1.

Salah, the Premier League's top scorer, typically marked the occasion with a goal, with his stunning second-half effort taking his tally for the top-flight term up to 28

And afterwards the 32-year-old admitted he was desperate to win the title in front of Reds supporters.

It is the first time the club has been able to do that since 1990.

Salah said: "It's incredible. To win the Premier League with the fans is something special.

"This is way better (than five years ago). 100 per cent.

“Without Sadio (Mane), without Jurgen and without Bobby (Roberto Firmino), without everybody... it's more special with the fans.”

“We have a different group now, a different manager, so that we've been able to show that we can do it again is something special.

"I wanted to win it at Anfield. The guys met last week to watch Arsenal versus Crystal Palace (who would have handed the title to Liverpool if they won).

“I didn't want to win it there, I wanted to win it at Anfield.

"It's something special and to be able to score and get this result is incredible."

Salah is enjoying an incredible campaign under Klopp's successor Arne Slot.

when asked about the Dutchman after his arrival on Merseyside,

Salah said:

“He was very honest. He's Dutch, the Dutch are quite tough, but he made our lives easier because he asked immediately what he wanted you to do, which is what we did. I'm glad that we won it here."

When asked if Slot had made him a better player, Salah, who also has the most assists in this season's Premier League (18),

Salah said: "You see the numbers, it seems so. Now I don't have to defend much."

On the difference between Klopp and Slot, the Egypt captain continued: "It's quite tough to say one thing but the tactics are quite different.

"But I told him, 'as long as you rest me defensively, I will provide offensively'. So I'm glad I did.

"It was the manager's idea, of course, but he listens a lot, so I spoke to him, he liked the idea, and you can see the numbers.

"When you play in the Premier League you also have to defend against the left-back, but I spoke to him and said I can gamble somehow, and get the ball, I can always make the difference.

"And the number of assists also shows that. It's not just about goals, it's about creating for the team."
