The EFL will continue their trial of in-stadium VAR announcements at the Carabao Cup Final at Wembley next month, according to the Daily Mirror.
The trial was first carried out during Carabao Cup semi-final ties between Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal and Newcastle.
However, it's a move that will disappoint Reds boss Arne Slot, who described the announcements as 'necessary' following those semi-final ties
The Dutchman also raised concerns that addressing the crowd could lead to officials receiving more abuse if supporters did not agree with the decisions, putting them under further scrutiny for the rest of the game.
In-stadium VAR announcements were trialled at the Club World Cup and Under-20 World Cup before being used for the first time at a major tournament during the Women's World Cup
FIFA are also planning to use the announcements at this summer's Club World Cup, but the usage in the Carabao Cup semi-finals has raised concerns regarding consistency.
During Liverpool's first-leg defeat at Tottenham, referee Stuart Atwell made an announcement to the crowd explaining why Dominic Solanke's goal had been ruled out for offside.
However, when Lucas Bergvall escaped a second yellow card for a late challenge, fans were left scratching their heads, with the midfielder going on to score the winner of that leg.
Slot remarked post-match at Spurs.
"I wonder if we are all going to like this,"
"For me, it is not necessary. I wonder if it's a good thing for the referee because he is already under a lot of pressure in every game.
"I think him explaining would even add more pressure on the next, and the next and the next decision he has to make. I was there in the Spurs stadium.
“I think maybe if he (referee Stuart Attwell) would have explained it (not punishing Bergvall) and it disadvantaged the home team, then maybe it becomes even more pressure.
"For me it is not necessary to announce things. But I can see the live coverage of everything (on a screen), it is not available for every fan so it's something nice for them."
Liverpool are set to face Newcastle under the Wembley Arch on Sunday, March 16th,
