Dejan Lovren has offered support to Mohamed Salah following his Liverpool outburst.
The Egyptian's incendiary comments in the wake of the 3-3 draw against Leeds United, where he was an unused substitute, have divided theAnfieldfanbase.
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragherbroke his silence on the 33-year-old's scathing assessment of Arne Slot and the current fortunes at the Merseyside club.
The Dutchman's side take on Inter Milan in a must-win Champions League clash but their showdown in Italy follows a tumultuous 48 hours.
Lovren, a former Croatia international and teammate of Salah at Anfield, has sided with Salah following his stunning comments in an impromptu interview with reporters at Elland Road.
The ex-Liverpool stopper tweeted Salah at 10pm on Monday night with a red heart emoji as the Reds icon comes under scrutiny for his comments.
In Salah's outburst, he claimed he had been 'thrown under the bus' by Liverpool.
Salah said: "I think it is very clear that someone wanted me to get all of the blame.
"I said many times before that I had a good relationship with the manager, and all of a sudden we don't have any relationship.
"I don't know why but it seems to me, how I see it, that someone doesn't want me in the club. It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus.
Salah is due to join up with his Egypt teammates on December 15 after Liverpool host Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield, a day earlier.
However, it remains unclear whether he will be back in the squad after revealing there had been a breakdown in relationship with the Premier League-winning manager
It has also plunged his future in doubt following the re-emergence of Saudi Arabian interest in the forthcoming January transfer window.
Carragher slammed Salah for his reaction to a third successive appearance on the bench, he said: "I thought it was a disgrace what he did after the game.
Carragher
“Whenever Mo Salah stops in a mixed zone, which he's done four times in eight years at Liverpool, it's choreographed with him and his agent to cause maximum damage and strengthen his own position. “
“He's chosen this weekend to do this now and he's waited, I think, for a bad result for Liverpool.”
"You can see the last-minute goal, Liverpool supporters, the manager, everyone involved in the club feels like they're in the gutter at the moment and he's chosen that time to go for the manager and maybe try and get him sacked.
"The club have made the right decision in terms of [Salah] not going abroad now. Whether he will play for Liverpool again, I don't know. I hope he does, because he is one of the greatest players we've ever had.
“But if you continue like that and make statements like that if he doesn't play, who knows?"
