Bayern Munich chief Karl-Heinz Rummenigge claims the Bundesliga champions would resist a world-record offer for Michael Olise this summer.
Liverpool have been speculatively named in connection with France international Olise since Mohamed Salah confirmed he would be leaving Anfield after nine years at the end of this campaign.
Links to Olise have been downplayed at Anfield but the former Crystal Palace winger is viewed by many as the idea solution to Salah's end-of-season exit on Merseyside.
Germany legend Rummenigge, who serves as a member of Bayern's supervisory board, says the club have no interest in selling a player who has become one of the stars of the Bundesliga since he moved from Palace in 2024
Bayern would not entertain selling 24-year-old Olise for any amount, says the Bayern official.
“He's a wonderful player," Rummenigge told t-online. "By the way, I also like the fact that he is so reserved and almost media-shy.
"This is the exception in today's world. He's a good guy and on the pitch he's of course outstanding, the way he celebrates football and almost does magic.
"That's why I'm not surprised that he is so incredibly popular and hyped by our fans."
Asked if Bayern could realistically afford to turn down a €200m (£173m) offer for Olise, Rummenigge added: "I'll tell you a story from the past.
"In 2009, we had an incredible offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery. That would have been a new transfer world record at the time.
"I then took it to our CFO at the time, Karl Hopfner and Uli Hoeness. We discussed for two hours what we were going to do with this offer.
“On that day, we decided something fundamental: that we would not sell any more players in the future who we would miss on the pitch. And this unwritten law still applies today.
"For a player like Olise, there is no price tag that would make us cringe."
Olise is expected to start when Bayern meet Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday night.
