Unai Emery addressed queries about Boubacar Kamara and Leon Bailey in the aftermath of Aston Villa's 1-1 stalemate with Ipswich Town.

The Midlands side is set to host Liverpool this midweek.

Kamara was substituted off in the 16th minute by Tyrone Mings, making a comeback from injury, while Bailey was absent from the squad owing to an issue.

Kamara had been slotted in at center-back, pairing up with new recruit Axel Disasi who arrived on loan from Chelsea earlier this month.

Due to the terms of his loan, Disasi will be ineligible to play against his parent club Chelsea in their upcoming Premier League clash next weekend.

But he will be fine to be involved against Liverpool this Wednesday.

When quizzed about Kamara's early exit from the game, Emery remarked: "I don't know now but I think it is not a lot."

About Bailey's condition, he commented: "Leon had a small pain and I think it is not a very important injury. Hopefully he will be ready for the next matches."

The Villa squad is already missing Ezri Konsa, who was injured in the first half of the match against Tottenham last weekend

but Emery remains hopeful he can make a comeback in around a week. It is a big few days for Aston Villa with Liverpool and Chelsea in quick succession,

Pau Torres is on the brink of returning to the fray but hasn't resumed group training yet after sustaining a metatarsal fracture at the end of December.

Ross Barkley, Amadou Onana, and Matty Cash are also among those currently sidelined due to injuries.

Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez and Tyler Morton, while Cody Gakpo is a doubt. Curtis Jones, though, will be back from suspension
