Liverpool and their head coach Arne Slot have, reportedly, received an apology from Amazon Prime
the broadcaster claimed that the Dutchman entered the referee's dressing room at half-time of the 3-3 draw with Newcastle.
Liverpool had found themselves 1-0 down at the break during that clash at St. James' Park. The match eventually ended in a 3-3 draw
following the game, it was claimed that Slot had held a conversation with referee Andy Madley in his dressing room - which was not the case.
Presenter Dan Walker said: "Before the game he (Madley) said if you want to come and see me at any point, you can.
”He didn't specify, here it is, you can see this (the footage) here, he didn't specify that that was at half-time or full-time.”
"We do know that Arne Slot went to see him at the break - after 45 minutes - and obviously Eddie Howe wasn't best-pleased about that.
“I'm sure there's going to be more said and more written and more spoken about that in the future."
However, Slot didn't directly approach Madley - or even enter the referee's changing room at any time during the half-time interval.
Instead, they are believed to exchanged words in the tunnel when walking next to each other and nothing untoward was said during their brief conversation.
Amazon's claim is thought to have stemmed from a misunderstanding
The Times now report that the broadcaster has made contact with both Slot and Liverpool to offer an apology over the suggestion.
That's thought to have been accepted by all parties. The club are said to now believe the matter to be closed.
