Alexis Mac Allister admits the shock news of Jurgen Klopp's imminent departure has given the Liverpool squad an extra incentive to end the season
The Liverpool manager had told the club's owners Fenway Sports Group of his intention back in November
The squad had been kept in the dark until shortly before the announcement was made public.
A number of Liverpool players have subsequently responded with messages of support for Klopp, with Ibrahima Konate vowing "I have to give my life for him now".
The Reds can open up a temporary eight-point gap at the top of the Premier League table with victory at Arsenal
Liverpool are already looking forward to a League Cup final against Chelsea later this month and have progressed to the last 16 of the Europa League.
Mac Allister believes the Liverpool squad are more determined than ever to ensure a promising campaign thus far results in tangible reward.

"The manager saying he is leaving has given us a greater incentive, yes,"
"I don't know if that was his idea when he made the announcement, but it's definitely become an incentive.
"We all know what Jurgen means to this club and the fans, and we want the best for him.
"We really understand and respect his decision and now we want to do out best to give him a very good season before he leaves."
