Alexis Mac Allister has explained why the return of a 'frustrated' Mohamed Salah could help Liverpool's quest to win the Premier League title.

The Reds recorded a 4-1 win over Brentford on Saturday to retain their spot at the top of the league standings

Salah made his long-awaited return to action in a Liverpool shirt with a substitute appearance against Brentford.

Salah replaced the injured Diogo Jota in the first half and would go on to get a goal and an assist in the win.

Salah has now returned to the matchday squad and played a key role in Liverpool getting the three points.

It was Salah who provided the assist for Mac Allister's goals, and Reds No.10 explained how his teammate has been "frustrated" at being forced to be on the sidelines through injury

Mac Allister

He [Salah] is amazing. I am very happy for him,"

"He’s been out and he’s been a little bit frustrated about it, but he came back and in a couple of minutes he scored and got an assist. He is an amazing player for us, a leader and I am very happy for him."

Mac Allister was also asked about Liverpool's chances of winning the Premier League title.

Mac Allister added

"Yeah, very confident but we know there is still a long way to go,"

"We have Luton and a very important game against Chelsea [in the Carabao Cup] but we try to step by step and try to do our best in every game.
