Klopp has allayed fears of an injury to Alexis Mac Allister after the Liverpool midfielder limped out of the friendly defeat to Bayern Munich.
Mac Allister underwent treatment on the pitch after the two teams had returned to the dressing rooms and then hobbled off while flanked by Liverpool back room staff.
Klopp, though, has revealed the issue is not thought to be serious and the Argentina World Cup winner was merely replaced as a precaution.
Klopp:
“It was knee on knee,”
"He could have played on. The first information I had was that it was painful, and so it was clear we would change. There was no need to push him through.
“When I spoke afterwards he said everything was fine. But we didn’t want any risk.
“It was just knee on knee. A bruise. It was fine.”
Klopp added
"I hate losing. When it happens I feel it but it's pre-season, strong opponent.
“Today it was really hard. We played super first 10 minutes or so and then we were really in the game with everything clicking.
“Was I surprised by the intensity? No. It was pretty clear when you set up a game between two pretty competitive teams and managers. It had to be intense.
“The players must have looked at the clock and thought ‘oh, it's only been 10 minutes, it feels like an hour and 50 minutes’.
“We've had two camps in a row and this is the last day. The most important information of all is that nobody got hurt. Really cool.
“The physical aspect of the game today was a super important session for us.”
