Alexis Mac Allister admits Real Madrid 'dream' and sends Liverpool contracts message

Alexis Mac Allister has reiterated he is happy at Liverpool and admitted he is looking to improve his output in front of goal


The Argentina international scored his second goal of the season in the Reds’ 2-0 victory over Real Madrid last week.


A £35m signing from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer of 2023, the 25-year-old impressed in his first season on Merseyside.




Predominantly fielded as a number six, he finished his maiden campaign in Anfield in a more advanced role.


Returning seven goals and seven assists from 46 appearances, such form did see the midfielder linked with a move to Real Madrid last season.


But after scoring against the La Liga giants, Mac Allister admitted he is living the dream at Liverpool.

“Dreams are there to be fulfilled,” he said, as quoted by the club. “I have been achieving things that even in my best dreams I could not have imagined and I am very happy for my present.


“I enjoy it very much and I am grateful for life. It was special to beat a club like Real Madrid, with so much history and with the team that they have, the players and the individuals that they have.”


Since Arne Slot’s arrival, Mac Allister has been given license to play further forward in midfield with the Dutchman often selecting the Argentine alongside Ryan Gravenberch in a double-pivot.


Despite the change of role, he has been limited to two goals and no assists from 20 appearances so far this season.


the World Cup winner has admitted he is determined to improve such totals.

“It’s up to me to continue. I like to score goals, I like to assist,”


“I also want to put some emphasis on that, on improving my numbers. I think I can do that.


“So, I’m happy for what I’m achieving, but at the same time I always want a little bit more.”
