Premier League icon Alan Shearer believes Liverpool's current form is a worry for the top-flight as he tipped Arne Slot's side to beat Everton.
The Reds are looking to make it four wins from four in the Premier League but face a Blues side that has enjoyed an impressive start to the season.
The focus in recent weeks has been on the spending in L4, as well as the performances from the reigning champions, who have made a habit of scoring late in games.
Virgil van Dijk powered a 92nd-minute header home in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid days after Mohamed Salah converted from the spot in the fifth minute of second-half stoppage time at Turf Moor.
Big-money signings Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz are yet to show their capabilities in a Liverpool shirt for varying reasons; although Wirtz's showing against Diego Simeone's side in midweek was one of his best since his switch from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Shearer said: "The Merseyside derby is a great derby. The respect is there between both football clubs. I lived in Merseyside for four years when I played for Blackburn, so I understand it.
"There's huge respect between fans and I imagine they're great games to play in. I've been to them myself.
"David Moyes seems to be getting what he wants at Everton - obviously not the finished product. And Liverpool have spent an absolute fortune.
“They've not played well at all yet this season in the league, but they've won four from four games which has to be a worrying sign for the rest of the league.
"I guess Liverpool are still trying to figure out a system that works for everyone going forward.
“Defensively there aren't too many issues, certainly not in the last league game. In forward positions, they're still trying to get the best out of Wirtz.
“They obviously have another huge player in Isak who made his debut on Wednesday night.
"I wouldn't be too concerned about not playing well and winning games. That must be a positive.
"Tough one to call but Liverpool at Anfield, won four from four in the league without playing well and Isak made his debut on Wednesday in the Champions League, so I'll go for a home win."
