Saudi Pro League director of football Michael Emenalo has claimed that "no doors" have been closed on their interest in Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
The Reds faced summer-long speculation surrounding their 31-year-old attacker after interest from the Middle East
Al-Ittihad failed in their pursuit after launching a £150m verbal offer on the eve of deadline day, which was swiftly rejected.
Throughout the transfer window, Liverpool maintained a firm stance that the Egyptian was not for sale
Reports suggest that Salah could be subject to another approach in January or next summer with the Saudi Pro League looking to establish their competition among the elite.
The league's director of football has claimed that their pursuit is not over and they will chase the Reds star in a "respectful manner".
Emenalo
"First and foremost, Mohamed Salah is one of the best footballers on the planet, Arab or not, he's a phenomenal football player," he told Sky Sports."
"I've said this before, privately and publicly, we welcome anyone that wants to come and that includes Salah.
"But we have to do things in a very professional and respectful manner because that's what we're there for, this is what the SPL (Saudi Pro League) has been refined to do."
"To bring professionalism, respect of efficiencies and to do things in a competent way, if it didn't happen, it's not because we no longer fancy the player or because we have a problem with Liverpool.
"It's because there are certain things that need to align for all the parties involved in the process to align."
"No one is angry, we move on but we absolutely close no doors, if the opportunity is there to do things, do it well and it brings Mohamed Salah to the Pro League we'll all be very grateful."
