Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal against Fulham has been awarded as a Bernd Leno own-goal, after a ruling from the Premier League adjudication panel.

From the right side of the box, Alexander-Arnold whipped the effort over the wall which cannoned in off the bar.

It would have been his second in as many games, after his equaliser in the draw vs Manchester City

But the set-piece appeared to cannon off the back of the former Arsenal shot-stopper.

midway through the second-half it was ruled that the effort was an own-goal for the German goalkeeper.

The reasoning behind the decision was that "the ball came back of the bar and hit the 'keeper before crossing the line."

Trent's strike was one of two fantastic goals for Jurgen Klopp's side during the opening 45 on Sunday

Alexis Mac Allister, opened his account for the Reds with an outstanding volley.

It's a disappointing development for Alexander-Arnold as he thought he added to his growing collection of superb set-piece efforts
