Klopp is currently the longest-serving manager in the Premier League and marked eight years in charge of the Reds at the weekend.

Shankly enjoyed an iconic 15 years in charge at Anfield in the 1960s and 1970s, taking the club from the old second division and establishing them as a major force in English and European football.

"It's how you are as a person, what kind of leader you are and how you speak about a lot of things,"

"Every club has managers they look up to and adore, but I think Bill Shankly really changed it at Liverpool by being a father of the modern football club and how he spoke about what was important to people, and the duty a club has to its supporters.

"That had been lost a little bit before Jurgen Klopp came in. He brought that spirit all back and brought us all together.

"He brought us in as The Anfield Wrap to have a direct line of communication with them. The fans and players have really, really responded to that.

"He's proved so many times that, when everyone pulls together, you can achieve remarkable things."
